Kochnev Vladimir Georgievich was born on May 9, 1945 in Yakutia.
He graduated from the Leningrad Mining Institute named after G.V. Plekhanov in 1972; his thesis was awarded the VDNH medal.
From 1972 to 1984, he worked at the Yakutniproalmaz Institute (Mirny, Yakutia).
In 1978, he defended his PhD thesis on the topic of crushing ores in planetary mills. From 1984 to 1990, he worked in the Northern Department of TsNIGRI as a coordinating director for the development of technological services for enterprises engaged in exploration work at diamond deposits in the Arkhangelsk region. The report on this work was defended «perfectly» in the State Committee on Reserves.
In 1991, in St. Petersburg, he founded and headed the scientific and production company «Machinery and Technology of Disintegration», the main areas of work of which are related to his own developments. He has more than 50 scientific papers. The developments are protected by 35 patents, including the USA, Canada, Australia, South Africa, and Chile.
